![]() ![]() Williams has paved the way in his field in a variety of areas, such as coining the term “Ebonics”, critiquing traditional IQ testing, and thinking about concepts such as Black Personality Theory and Racial Scripting. ![]() ![]() Williams has gained a lot of experience in his field, working as a psychologist in both the Arkansas State Hospital and Jefferson Barracks Veterans Affairs Hospital in St. in 1961 from Washington University in Clinical Psychology. Williams has long been passionate about education and academics, graduating high school at 16 and going on to eventually earn his Ph.D. Nobles has published many works focusing on topics such as black self-concept, African American dynamics, African-centered education, healing, and spirituality. He is also one of the founding member of the Association of Black Psychologists, and served as president from 1994-1995. Nobles is also the founder and executive of the Institution for the Advanced Study of Black Family Life and Culture in Oakland. from Stanford and currently teaches in the Department of Africana Studies at San Francisco State University. Nobles is a pioneer in his field, with a long career in research and academia. ![]()
